Levi Perry is one of Fender's rising stars, promoted to Master Builder in 2023 after apprenticing under legends like Ron Thorn, Paul Waller and Todd Krause. He's contributed to high-profile builds including the Game of Thrones guitars, the George Harrison Rocky Strat, and the Phil Lynott Precision Bass. Known for his meticulous relic work and tonal intuition, Levi brings a fresh energy to the Custom Shop, and guitars with his name on the backplate are already commanding serious attention from collectors and players alike.
The Fender Custom Shop Levi Perry Masterbuilt '58 Precision Bass Heavy Relic is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
The Alder body is typically comfortable thanks to the lush sweeping curves, and with a Faded Chocolate 3-Tone Sunburst finish it looks real slick. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further, it also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively. The wear patterns are incredible, so genuine and authentic.
The aged medium tint riftsawn Maple neck features a 57 Bass Soft "V" profile, designed for precision and comfort; it's equally at home playing big low end root notes or technical work further up the neck and measures .925" at the 1st fret and .990" at the 12th. 20 Vintage Upgrade 45085 frets, a 1.750" bone nut, and a 9.5" radius make this bass feel familiar and supremely comfortable.
The electronics are a highlight of this instrument. It is equipped with a 57 P-Bass pickup hand-wound by Josefina Campos, Fender's current Master Pickup Winder. Having trained under Abigail Ybarra, Campos has carried forward the legacy of Fender's original pickup designs, handcrafting each coil with meticulous care. This pickup produces the perfect vintage low-end thump that you makes the Fender P-Bass a timeless classic.
