Here at Peach Guitars, were obsessed with vintage Fender guitars from the 1950s and 1960s. Those guitars have a real magic to them and were responsible for some of the most iconic and influential music ever recorded. The Fender Custom Shop team work tirelessly to recreate the magic of these original instruments for todays players, and they really do an incredible job!
Within the Fender Custom Shop, theres a select group of luthiers who are among the most experienced, talented, and creative builders on the planet. Were of course talking about the Master Builders. Every builder produces incredible instruments, but guitars crafted by Dale Wilson always seem to attract extra attention. His relicing techniques and eye for detail consistently result in guitars that genuinely look and feel like authentic golden-era instruments. His guitars never tend to hang around for long, so dont wait too long if this one has caught your eye.
This 1961 Stratocaster features a period correct alder body, which is typical of Stratocasters crafted in the 1960s. Alder is a great tonewood which is still used on standard production Fender instruments. It gives you a balanced tone with great resonance and sustain. It features a traditional 3-Colour Sunburst nitrocellulose finish, which really does look like a genuine vintage Stratocaster. Were lucky enough to have a few 1960s Stratocasters in our private collection, and this Stratocaster certainly looks at home alongside them, the attention to detail is just great.
It features a plain grain maple neck, which feels really smooth and comfortable to play. Its got a 63 Strat style C neck shape, which really complements the authentic 1960s visuals. It measures .830 at the 1st fret, and 1.000 at the 12th fret. The rosewood fingerboard is dark in colour and features a 10 radius, 21 narrow tall frets, white dot inlays, and a 1.650 nut width.
It's loaded with a trio of hand wound Fender Strat Fat 60s pickups, which is one of the most popular choices amongst players. Theyre warm, sweet sounding, and have a punchy mid range bite. They do a great job at replicating the traditional 1960s Strat tone.
If youre looking for a Stratocaster that looks genuinely old, but with a few modern tweaks, then you should 100% check this one out. Dales guitars never hang around long, so do not wait around!
