This Fender Custom Shop instrument was crafted by the now former Fender Master Builder, Levi Perry. During his time with the Custom Shop, Levi worked on many prestigious projects, such as the Limited Edition George Harrison Rocky Stratocaster, and the of course El Mocambo series of instruments.
Over the years, we’ve received countless Fender Custom Shop instruments crafted by Levi Perry. His attention to detail, craftsmanship, and unique vision have always led to some incredibly creative and inspiring guitars. We’ve long been massive fans of his work, and it didn’t take long for our customers to feel the same way. Levi has now moved on from the Fender Custom Shop to begin his own project “Gavilan Guitars”. This is a unique opportunity to pick up one of the last brand new Fender Custom Shop Levi Perry Masterbuilt instruments available.
The Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Levi Perry '62 Strat Relic is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
A sort for lightweight Alder body is finished in a Super Faded Aged Lake Placid Blue nitro lacquer. Authentically aged, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. The thin nitro finish also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively.
The medium tint Plain Grain Maple neck has a smooth finish. With an AAA sort for dark Rosewood fingerboard, 10.5" radius and 21 jumbo frets, the '62 Custom Shop Stratocaster can handle anything you throw at it without even breaking a sweat; it's supremely comfortable and well balanced. The '59 Esquire "C" neck profile is extremely comfortable and easy to play. It measures .790" at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th fret.
With a trio of hand wound Fender Custom Shop '60/'63 Strat pickups, it delivers all the sweeping, versatile tones you would expect from a Strat and is voiced to produce those hallmark throaty tones from those formidable years.
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, it's easy to see the Fender Masterbuilders are so highly regarded. Guitars of this calibre just don't come around every day, we love it and we're pretty sure you will to!
