Crafted in Gdansk, Poland, Mayones Guitars and Basses offer the perfect fusion of modern design, craftsmanship and over 40 years of Mayones tradition. Since launching back in 1982, Mayones' skilled team of world class luthiers have delivered guitars of the highest quality.
The Mayones Hydra is a powerhouse metal machine, it’s an instrument built to perform at the highest level. So, if you’re a fan of headless instruments, then you’re sure to love this!
This Hydra is a real premium instrument and features a unique build specification you don’t see every day! It features a lightweight body crafted from solid mahogany. This tone wood is known for its power and incredible resonance. The body is ergonomically designed, so it is extremely comfortable to play either standing up or sitting down! The Monolith Custom finish is a nice touch. It’s a beautiful shade of blue and feels great thanks to the high-quality satin finish.
The 3-ply Maple and Wenge neck features a headless design, which is one of the Hydra’s most eye-catching and important features. The Ebony fingerboard is dark in colour and features a 25.4” scale length, stainless steel frets, a 16” radius, and a 43.5mm nut width. The neck overall feels slick and easy to play, and thanks to the helpful body cutaway, you can easily access every fret.
The pickup choice really brings this guitar to life, it features a set of Bare Knuckle Silo pickups, which were designed in collaboration with guitarist Rabea Massaad. They’re great for just about every tone you can imagine. They work well for tight high gain tones, but more than hold their own when played clean. They’re super inspiring and fun to play through. This set also features burn chrome pickup covers, which have a really unique and interesting colour.
Other key features include an ABM Headless bridge, a GraphTech black tusq nut, and a Mayones hybrid case.
If you are looking for a powerhouse guitar with a real powerful response but still retaining a finesse and intricacy that's reminiscent of the 80s, the Mayones Hydra is a worthy contender.
