We've stocked Mayones guitars here at Peach Guitars for many years. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship and innovation truly are second to none, and it's a real privilege to have their incredible instruments available in our store. Over the years, we've built an incredibly close relationship with the Mayones team and love working with them to design unique and bespoke instruments for our store!
At the 2026 Guitar Summit show, Mayones debuted the brand new Alex Hutchings Aquila Emory RW 6, the latest evolution of Alex's signature model. Alex is a truly incredible guitarist, so if you haven't heard him play, we strongly recommend checking him out! This latest evolution of the Emory design adds a Rosewood fingerboard. It's a simple change, but it gives the guitar a noticeably different character and feel. This particular guitar was used on stage by Alex Hutchings at the 2026 Guitar Summit show, so it certainly got his seal of approval!
The Aquila Emory features a very traditional tonewood pairing, with a Mahogany body and a highly figured Maple top. This combination has been used since the late '50s and can be found on some of the most iconic guitars ever crafted. Together, they deliver a great tone with loads of character! The Maple top features a lovely "Emory Burst" stain, which is unique and exclusive to this guitar. The finish looks fantastic, with an almost Bengal Burst or caramel-like quality to it. It's a really classy look and the perfect choice for a guitar like this. As with all Mayones Aquila guitars, the Emory offers incredible access to the upper frets, which is essential for Alex's playing. So, if you find yourself reaching for the 24th fret, you'll have no problems getting there!
The neck is crafted from a single piece of T.E.W. Maple. Mayones' T.E.W. (Tonally Enhanced Wood) process involves roasting the timber to help stabilise the wood and remove excess moisture. This process also helps enhance the guitar's resonance and sustain, while giving the wood a deep caramel colour. As this is the "RW 6" version, it features a dark Rosewood fingerboard that looks and feels great. Other key features include a 25.4" scale length, 12" radius, blue Luminlay side dots, 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, abalone dot inlays and a C-shaped neck profile.
The H/S/S pickup configuration gives Alex access to an incredibly wide range of tones. It features a Mayones Velvetrone Ironside humbucker in the bridge position, alongside a pair of Ifrit single coils in the middle and neck positions. Thanks to the 5-way switch, you can access a great range of tones with ease! You also have master volume and master tone controls, allowing you to further shape your sound. It's completed with high-quality Gotoh hardware, including a reliable 510 tremolo system and a set of 510 locking tuners.
