Kyle McMillin is known across the globe as one of Fender's most highly revered Masterbuilders, a select group of the worlds most esteemed luthiers. With this Godly status, any guitar with his name attached generates a huge amount of interest, and rightly so. This Fender Custom Shop Kyle McMillin ‘61 Strat is a great example of the legendary prowess of his Masterbuilder status.
The Alder body is finished in an authentically aged Vintage White nitrocellulose lacquer and the ageing here is super tasteful, mimicking the look of a genuine early '60s Strat that's been on the road for many decades! This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further, it also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively.
The Rift Sawn Maple neck is extremely comfortable thanks to a 59 Esquire C profile, 9.5" radius and 21 Jumbo frets - making big string bends easy and articulate. It's super resonant and feels incredible underhand. The AAA Rosewood fingerboard is a treat to play, perfectly balanced and with flawless playability right up the neck, it's a real player's piece.
With the Stratocaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '61 Stratocaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Strat sound. With a trio of Hand Wound 59 pickups, it produces all the vintage Fender mojo you could ask for! Warm, soaring lead tones and crisp, glassy cleans - this is a seriously killer sounding Strat!
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, Kyle has done an absolutely fantastic job with this one, it stands up there among the best Masterbuilt's we've had in at Peach!
