With a period-correct nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this guitar exudes a timeless, classic aesthetic, while the relic process imbues it with the appearance of a seasoned road warrior. Nitro finishes, prevalent in the '60s, are notably thinner than modern polyurethane finishes, allowing for enhanced resonance and continued ageing over time.
The '60s Strat features Texas Special pickups - overwound, calibrated, vintage-style Strat pickups renowned for their midrange chirp, bell-like highs, and tight bass. Constructed with Alnico V magnets and enamel-coated magnet wire, these pickups deliver increased output, while hand-built using cloth lead wires and fibre bobbins ensures authenticity. Additionally, wax potting ensures microphonic-free operation, ideal for players who prefer high-gain settings. These pickups are wired up in the "Blender" formation, where the furthest tone control is used to either blend in the neck or bridge pickup depending on your pickup selector. It also features a Tone-Saver bleed for even more modern versatility.
