Josefina Hand Wound 50-51 Blackguard & Seymour Duncan Antiquity Pickups - 9.5" Fingerboard Radius - Narrow Tall Frets

The Fender Custom Shop '60 Telecaster Custom is a premium instrument built to exacting standards, combining vintage design with modern playability. Its alder body is finished in a Journeyman Relic Black nitro lacquer, offering an authentic worn-in appearance while retaining durability. The thin nitrocellulose finish not only looks period-correct but also enhances resonance and sustain, allowing the guitar's natural tonal qualities to come through more effectively. This ensures that the instrument not only feels authentic but also delivers superior performance over time.
The neck features Rift Sawn Maple construction with a dark AAA rosewood fingerboard, offering stability and a smooth playing surface. With a 9.5" fingerboard radius, 21 narrow tall frets, and a '59 Esquire "C" profile (.790" at the first fret and .970" at the 12th), the guitar balances comfort and accuracy for both chord work and lead playing. The 25.5" scale length and 1.650" nut width provide familiar Fender spacing, making it ideal for players who value traditional feel with modern reliability. Every detail has been carefully designed to maximise playability while retaining a vintage-correct aesthetic.
For electronics, the Custom Shop '60 Telecaster Custom is equipped with a Josefina Campos hand-wound '50-'51 Blackguard bridge pickup and a Seymour Duncan Antiquity neck humbucker. This pairing delivers the iconic Telecaster twang alongside smooth, full-bodied neck tones, making it versatile enough for clean passages, articulate rhythm work, or driven lead tones. Josefina Campos is Fender's current Master Pickup Winder, ensuring world-class pickup craftsmanship and consistency. This configuration provides players with a wide tonal palette while maintaining the character and responsiveness expected from a high-end Custom Shop instrument.
