Epiphone Marcus King El Dorado

The Epiphone El Dorado makes a triumphant return in collaboration with renowned GRAMMY nominated guitarist Marcus King. This iconic model first rose to prominence in the mid-1960s and was Marcus' first ever guitar! He loved it so much and it has been such an inspiration to him that he even named his 2020 album El Dorado.

The Marcus King El Dorado pays homage to  this guitar and captures the essence of its vintage appeal while providing modern playability and reliability. Stage-ready thanks to a built in LR Baggs Element Bronze under-saddle pickup and preamp which is discreetly installed to maintain the vintage aesthetics, the sound it produces captures the natural acoustic tone of the guitar remarkably well with the settings being easily adjustable via the controls in the soundhole.

The famous square-shouldered Hummingbird shaped body is constructed from solid Rosewood back and sides, topped with a solid Spruce which combine to provide not only secure structural stability but a premium tonal quality which is super responsive, rich and dynamic and will only improve with age.

A 25.5" scale Mahogany neck, 43mm nut width,  Rounded C shape neck profile, bone nut and headstock volute come together for a super stable build that is comfortable and easy to play. Topped off with a 3-ply bound Rosewood fingerboard which features 20 frets and rounded-corner Mother of Pearl block inlays for a tasteful look and smooth feel. A belly-down Rosewood bridge installed with a bone saddle retains an authentically vintage tone which is compensated for accurate intonation. Either side features custom inlays of South Carolina and Tennessee's Tri-Star logo, which is a classy nod to Marcus' background.

The look is completed with the addition of custom pickguard modelled after King's personal El Dorado which gives it its unique appeal.
