The iconic Hummingbird is now available in a new Deluxe cutaway version as part of the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom series. Designed in collaboration with the Gibson Custom acoustic team in Bozeman, Montana, this model brings classic style and sound to a wider range of players.
The Epiphone Hummingbird Deluxe EC features a thermally aged solid spruce top, alongside solid rosewood back and sides. This tone wood paring is legendary, and has been used across history for decades. Together they create a sweet, dynamic tone which is further enhanced by the all solid construction, and thermally aged scalloped x-bracing. This guitar has a full bass response and sparkling highs. The cutaway design allows easier access to the higher frets, making it a great option for lead guitarists and anyone who wants to play across the full fretboard. The pickguard is crafted from an acrylic and celluloid sandwich and showcases the instantly recognisable Hummingbird graphic etched in gold.
The Hummingbird Deluxe EC features a one-piece mahogany neck, which is glued in using a traditional dove tail joint. The rounded c profile is really comfortable and will feel familiar to anyone who plays traditional Gibson acoustic guitars. The Ebony fingerboard features 20 frets, a 43.815mm nut width, a 24.75” scale length, and mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays.
The Hummingbird Deluxe EC is equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC Bronze pickup and preamp, featuring volume and tone controls mounted in the soundhole for easy access. This setup ensures the guitar is ready for both stage and studio use whenever you are. It also comes with Epiphone’s new Protector Ultralite case, a hybrid design inspired by the classic Red Line cases that once accompanied vintage Gibson acoustic guitars.
