This premium aged finish 290 in a non-standard Oxblood colour is a prime example. The finish has a soft patina and super-light lacquer chequing which is similar ageing to Gibson's Ultra-Light Murphy Lab or Fender's Closet Classic finish - this gives an authentic representation of a vintage guitar that has been played but well looked after, no dings or scratches. Collings are widely regarded as being among the best manufacturers in the world when it comes to finishing, and this is another incredible example of their artistry. This is matched with the aged hardware. The 290 has long been one of the main staples in their electric guitar line-up, and the reason it remains so popular is because the design is seemingly simple, yet meticulously researched and perfectly made.

Its namesake comes from the scenic US 290 highway that travels through the Texas Hill Country past the Collings workshop. A solid Honduran Mahogany body and neck combine with a Rosewood fingerboard which is tastefully adorned with Ivoroid dot inlays. The body is installed with two ThroBak P90 55/56 SB pickups which provide a truly period-correct mid-50's P90 tone. With just these two pickups, you can produce a stunning variety of tones. Warm cleans, dynamic responsiveness and if you want to get down and dirty with your nastiest riffs, it'll show you its mettle!

Topped off with a MojoAxe CWT wraparound bridge, this adds to the true vintage feel and appearance.
