The Gibson Custom Shop team make some of the most historically accurate, inspiring, and best playing guitars on the market today. They’ve spent decades refining their craft and are true master luthiers. Every so often, a guitar pops up on Gibson’s available stock list that catches our eye. This Les Paul was one of those instruments! With a spec this cool, we simply couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to bring this Les Paul to Peach Guitars!
This 1959 spec Les Paul is one seriously cool guitar and not something you see every day! It features a traditional mahogany body paired with a highly figured maple top. This particular piece of maple really is stunning, it features prominent figuring running right across the top, which gives the guitar a real premium look and feel. The finish is another standout feature. The top has a deep Ocean Magenta stain, while the back and neck are finished in Hawaiian Blue. The contrast between the two colours works really well and helps this guitar stand out from the crowd. Visually, it’s one of the coolest Les Pauls we’ve seen in a long time. The Murphy Lab team have also lightly aged the finish, adding some subtle lacquer checking and a few small marks to help give it the look and feel of a well-loved vintage instrument.
The neck on this Les Paul Standard is crafted from mahogany, which is always a popular and vintage inspired choice. It features a 1959 style neck shape, which is extremely comfortable and will feel familiar to anyone who regularly plays Les Pauls. The rosewood fingerboard is dark in colour and looks great against the Ocean Magenta stain. It features a 24.75” scale length, 12” radius, 1.687” nut width, 22 medium jumbo frets, and cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays.
With a pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups, this guitar delivers PAF style tones which work well for almost every genre and playing style. These pickups are some of the most authentic PAF clones’ money can buy, so if you love that type of sound, you’re going to enjoy playing through these! Other key features include a ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge with a stop bar tailpiece. Kluson single line tuners. Paper-in-oil capacitors, a cream pickguard, and white volume and tone knobs.
This is one seriously cool Les Paul, so if you like what you see, make sure to act quickly!
