Based in Austin, Texas, Collings Guitars is a stringed instrument manufacturer, mainly producing high-quality, handmade Acoustic Guitars, which have been held in high regard for many decades. In 1973, Colling Guitars was founded by Bill Colling, who is recognised as one of the most respected names, when it comes to modern Acoustic Guitars and other instruments. Collings was hired in 1987 by vintage guitar collector George Gruhn, to produce 25 guitars. Following on from this, Collings started to receive a great amount of attention from notable guitar stores and magazines for the quality of his guitars. Although they have gained their reputation through Acoustic Guitars, Collings also produce high-quality electric guitars in 2006, releasing 3 models; as well as archtop guitars, mandolins, and ukuleles in 2010.
