The Collings I-35 LC is one of the most refined semi-hollow electrics available today, and this left-handed Faded Cherry model showcases the full depth of Collings craftsmanship. Built using their proprietary laminate construction, the I-35 LC features a maple laminate top, back and sides pressed in-house using a process developed by Bill Collings and his R&D team. The result is a semi-hollow that responds acoustically in perfect harmony with its electronics, producing a dry, woody, mid-forward voice that recalls the best vintage semi-hollows while offering the precision and consistency Collings is known for.
A maple and spruce centre block provides clarity, sustain and excellent feedback control, while the Honduran mahogany neck is carved to a comfortable Collings C profile. The rosewood fingerboard is bound in non-grained ivoroid and fitted with long mother of pearl dot inlays, matching the clean, understated aesthetic of the LC model. The extra-long mortise and tenon neck joint enhances resonance and stability, and the high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the guitar to vibrate freely and age naturally.
A matched set of Lollar Low Wind Imperial humbuckers delivers the I-35 LC’s articulate, open and harmonically rich tone. They pair beautifully with the LC's laminate construction, offering warmth and bloom for clean playing with enough definition to stay clear under gain. The wiring is classic 50s style, using CTS 500K pots and Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors for a smooth, musical response.
Hardware includes a Kluson ABR-1 bridge with retaining wire, a Kluson stop tailpiece, nickel Gotoh tuners with Collings logo, and a black/cream/black pickguard and truss rod cover. The guitar ships in a deluxe hardshell case.
This left-handed I-35 LC in Faded Cherry offers the perfect balance of vintage character, modern precision and Collings' unmistakable build quality.
