Mesa Boogie Stiletto Ace | 2x12 Combo - Used

The Mesa Boogie Stiletto Ace is a new breed of EL-34 powered amplifiers that can slice through the mix whilst elevating the classic British high gain sound. It's handcrafted in Petaluma, California with Mesa's outstanding dedication to tone and build quality. Featuring 2 fully independent channels with gain, treble, mid, bass, presence, and master controls - and 3 voicing modes each.  

On channel 1, the Fat Clean mode in this amplifier re-educates EL-tube aficionados used to clean "inputs" by introducing a dedicated clean-optimized preamp for sparkling highs, sweet mids, and deep lows. The Tite Clean mode trims some low-end response, leaving an urgent voice dominated by mids and highs, making it ideal for mahogany guitars or studio mixing. Crunch mode offers a versatile range of gain from classic Brit break-up to Southern Crunch. Channel 2 duplicates Crunch mode for more gain options, suitable for both rhythm and solo playing. Tite Gain mode enhances the classic Brit sound with extra gain and Boogie focus. Finally, Fluid Drive, the highest gain mode in Channel 2, delivers an incredibly fluid and harmonically rich solo voice, transforming the attack and decay in response to dynamic picking technique.

When it comes to the power amp section, dual EL-34s supply 50 watts of class A/B power. Each channel features independently assignable Dual Rectification with Mesa's Recto Tracking technology. This lets you swap between diode or tube rectification to choose between tight and punchy response or a saggy, compressed feel respectively. The power amp can further be tweaked by switching to Spongy mode - where the incoming line voltage is knocked down to 'brown-out' the amp. The fixed power tube bias also makes for easy maintenance free performance without having to adjust bias when changing power tubes.

With footswitch functionality, you can easily swap between the 2 channels as well as engaging the Solo level control. Just like the Output control - which lets you set the overall output level of the amp without affecting either channel's volume or break-up characteristics - the Solo control gives you an adjustable overall volume increase for those moments when you need to stand atop the mix. The Stiletto Ace also features an FX Loop for all your modulation, post-EQ, and reverb and delays. However, if you're more of an amp only kind of player then you can hard bypass the FX Loop for a completely unaffected signal chain (this also bypasses the Output and Solo level control).

This 2x12" combo is loaded with none other than the famed Celestion Vintage 30s, featuring enormously detailed and complex overtones, a warm low-end, a famously rich vocal mid-range, and a beautifully detailed top-end. Perfect for hard rock and modern players alike and match the attitude of this amplifier perfectly.

The tolex is in quite good condition however one of the leather corners has become partially detached and the footswitch and cover are not included.
