When the SG debuted back in '61 it was considered pretty radical for the time, with its thin body and no nonsense styling, it clearly focussed on raw power and playability. Quickly becoming a fan favourite with players like Pete Townshend, the SG found itself a permanent member of the Gibson roster.

The SG body is usually constructed entirely with Mahogany, this version features a visually stunning Koa top. Koa delivers a unique grain pattern, which means each piece of wood has its own beautiful visual appeal and no two guitars end up looking the same. Finished in a gloss Walnut, this strikes a truly premium aesthetic. An Ebony fingerboard with Mother of Pearl block inlays continues the luxurious appeal and brings this vintage-inspired model into the modern age with elegance.

With a pickup duo of Gibson 490R in the neck position and a 498T in the bridge it offers a super responsive and versatile tone. The 498T delivers powerful mids and a clean articulation while the 490R brings forth great richness and warmth - the two working in excellent harmony together to create a superb balanced tone.

Topped off with Gold hardware including a ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, pickup covers and Stopbar tailpiece with gold inserts on the control knobs, this is one seriously eye-catching SG.
