The classic and well-loved Fulltone Ultimate Octave pedal has just been revamped - but the circuit that made it a favourite remains untouched. Whilst the sound is exactly the same, the unit is now less than half the width of the old version and with top-mounted jacks. Rest assured that the excellent feel and volume clean-up are just the same as they always were
This heart of the pedal is a velvety-sounding BC108 transistor fuzz with an active tone circuit, but the sting-in-the-tail is the built-in soaring octave-up. The Fat/Bright switch is extremely versatile, affecting both the fuzz and octave tones. It takes them from fat and chewy to brighter and more articulate, with a slight mid-scoop. The pedal does a great job of tracking wherever you are on the neck, on any pickup position. However, for the most classic results, stick the guitar on the neck pickup and play your Hendrix and SRV-influenced material! If you want the octave effect to be further pronounced, then turn the tone up, back the gain down a touch, and raise the volume knob. Pro-tip!
Get yourself one of these pedals whilst you can - Fulltone's range became classics for a reason.
