The Fender Stratocaster is probably the most iconic guitar ever produced and the Fender Custom Shop '61 Stratocaster is a fitting addition to this legendary line.
The sort for lightweight Alder body is finished in a classic 3-Tone Sunburst nitro lacquer, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural acoustic resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The NOS finish gives the appearance of a New Old Stock guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1961 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work.
The star of the show is the Roasted AAA Flame Maple neck has a smooth satin finish and just looks and feels absolutely incredible. Matched with a AAA-grade sort for dark Rosewood fingerboard. With a 9.5" radius and 21 6150 frets, this '61 Custom Shop Stratocaster also features a '60 Style Oval "C" neck shape. It's supremely comfortable and well balanced, one of the Custom Shop's most popular options.
Loaded with a trio of hand wound Fat 60s pickups, these pickups deliver a rich and dynamic tonal range, offering a strong bass response, clear and articulate highs, and a vintage-correct voice that responds sensitively to playing dynamics. This makes the guitar equally capable of handling subtle, expressive passages as well as more powerful, driven tones.
