The Fender Stratocaster is probably the most iconic guitar ever produced and the Fender Custom Shop '61 Stratocaster relic is a fitting addition to this legendary line.
The Alder body is finished in a classic Sonic Blue nitro lacquer. Period correct and authentically aged, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The 5/4 quartersawn Maple neck has a smooth finish and a AAA-grade sort for dark Rosewood fingerboard. With a 9.5" radius and 21 6100 jumbo frets, the '61 Custom Shop Stratocaster also features a '60 Style Oval "C" neck shape that measures .790" at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th. It's supremely comfortable and well balanced.
With a trio of Master Winder Josefina Campos handwound Fender Strat Fat '60s pickups it delivers all the sweeping, versatile tones you would expect from a Strat. Rich and smooth, it's a premium Stratocaster tone.
