The Fender Stratocaster is probably the most iconic guitar ever produced and the Fender Custom Shop '59 Stratocaster is a fitting addition to this legendary line.
An Alder body is finished in a classic 3-Tone Sunburst, one of Fender's most iconic finishes, it's a real beauty! Authentically aged, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. The thin nitro finish also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively and with the relicing you also get that road-worn, look without any actual damage to the guitar.
The medium tint riftsawn Maple neck has a smooth nitro finished back and an AAA grade sort-for-dark Rosewood fingerboard. With a 9.5" fingerboard radius and 21 6100 jumbo frets, the '59 Custom Shop Stratocaster can handle anything you throw at it without even breaking a sweat; it's supremely comfortable and well balanced. The 60 Style Oval "C" neck profile is a joy to play and offers a great platform for both rhythm and lead playing - measuring .790" at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th. With the inclusion of a custom shop vintage Strat bridge and vintage tuners you have brilliant tuning stability and intonation.
The electronics are a highlight of this instrument. It is equipped with three hand-wound Fat '60s single-coil pickups made by Josefina Campos, Fender's current Master Pickup Winder. Having trained under Abigail Ybarra, Campos has carried forward the legacy of Fender's original pickup designs, handcrafting each coil with meticulous care. These pickups deliver a rich and dynamic tonal range, offering a strong bass response, clear and articulate highs, and a vintage-correct voice that responds sensitively to playing dynamics. This makes the guitar equally capable of handling subtle, expressive passages as well as more powerful, driven tones.
Supplied with a Fender Custom Shop hard case, this is a real sweet example of Custom Shop quality.
