This all-new Epiphone Inspired by Gibson SG Standard is better than ever. A long-time favourite of musicians across countless genres, it’s been played by legends such as Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Robbie Krieger, Angus Young and Tony Iommi. This Epiphone version captures the spirit and style of its Gibson counterpart, but at a much more accessible price point.
This model features the classic double cut SG body shape crafted from Mahogany. Mahogany has long been the wood of choice for Gibson models thanks to its resonance and incredible sustain. The Mahogany neck features a SlimTaper neck shape, which feels comfortable and gives this guitar a vintage feel. The Rosewood fingerboard features a 43mm nut width, 24.75" scale length, 22 frets, and pearloid dot inlays.
The Epiphone SG Standard is equipped with a pair of Epiphone’s acclaimed ProBucker humbucking pickups, delivering all the vintage-approved SG tones you could ask for. A ProBucker 2 humbucker sits in the neck position, while a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 is installed in the bridge. Each pickup has its own volume and tone controls, and a three-way toggle switch lets you use either pickup alone or blend them in any combination to suit your playing style and mood.
