Solid Mahogany Back and Sides - Thermally Aged Solid Spruce Top - L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC Electronics

The Gibson Hummingbird made its debut in 1960 as the first square-shoulder acoustic in the Gibson lineup. Arriving at the start of a new musical era, it quickly found its way into the hands of countless artists over the decades. Notable players include Keith Richards and Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, Eric Church, J Mascis, Joe Bonamassa, Gillian Welch, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, Steve Wariner, Dan Auerbach, and many others.
Epiphone, in partnership with Gibson Custom, is proud to introduce the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue, an Inspired by Gibson Custom model that faithfully captures the spirit of the original first-year Hummingbirds.
This stunning guitar features a thermally aged solid spruce top alongside solid mahogany back and sides. Thanks to the solid wood construction and traditional scalloped x-bracing, this guitar is incredibly resonant and punchy. It produces a warm, rich sound that fits beautifully across a wide variety of musical styles.
The one-piece mahogany neck features a 24.75-inch scale and a thermally aged finish, shaped with a comfortable Rounded profile. It’s topped with a bound rosewood fretboard, fitted with 20 standard frets, and accented with split parallelogram inlays made from mother of pearl. The headstock is equipped with gold-plated Epiphone Deluxe tuners featuring green Keystone buttons, providing reliable tuning stability so you can focus on playing instead of tuning. It also includes a two-ply black and white truss rod cover, while the Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown are inlaid in aged mother-of-pearl. The classic Gibson-style “open book” headstock shape is topped off with the Inspired by Gibson Custom double diamond logo etched on the back.
This Hummingbird includes all the distinctive details that make the vintage originals so recognizable. Its body is adorned with multi-ply binding on both the top and back. The belly-up rosewood bridge plate features a compensated bone saddle, and both the nut and bridge pins are made of bone. The pickguard showcases the iconic Hummingbird shape along with beautifully engraved artwork.
To meet the needs of today’s live performers and recording artists, the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue comes equipped with a built-in L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC preamp and undersaddle piezo pickup system, making it ready for stage and studio use whenever you are. It also includes a Red Line-inspired hardshell case featuring the Inspired by Gibson Custom logo on the exterior, providing safe and stylish protection as you travel to your next performance.
