The EP-Pro takes the EP Echoplex boost circuit and installs it in a volume pedal for an incredibly versatile tone-shaping utility. The Echoplex was a highly sought-after preamp used by legendary guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Eric Johnson, and EVH, it really does just enhance your sound with that extra but of subtle compression, boost, and "oomf" to your playing.
This pedal is designed to go in different places in your FX chain depending on your needs. For a more conventional boost and for the volume pedal to affect the level of overdrive in your tone, place the EP-Pro in front of your amp. For adding extra sparkle and nuance, you can put it after your amp's preamp in the FX-loop. Finally, for post-EQ capabilities and controlling the fatness and overall volume of your rig, you can place it at the very end of your FX-loop (but before any delay pedals).
