Master Designer and CEO of Taylor Guitars, Andy Powers, fulfilled his dream of creating a revolutionary new guitar with Powers Electric but the prototypes of these guitars actually started off as a variation of the Taylor T5z. You can really see the influences and roots from the T5z and A-Type in these unique prototypes and, after being tested out by Taylor and Powers Electric artists over the past year, we are honoured to be able to offer our customers such a historic pieces of the Powers Electric brand.
This hybrid of a guitar most notably features what looks like Andy's FF42 (full faraday) pickup in the neck position, delivering rich, warm, tones with a modern edge. The chambered body further enhances the resonance and sustain.
The unfinished neck makes for an effortlessly smooth feel when running up and down the neck whilst Taylor tuners help ensure everything stays in tune.
With a pearloid pickgaurd, a gorgeous flame maple top, and intricate inlays, you can really see the resemblance to the A-Type Select here.
