Another gorgeous Custom Taylor Guitar! This instrument was one of the highlights from Taylor's stall at the 2025 NAMM show.
The Taylor Custom #22 T5z is a versatile hybrid hollowbody guitar designed for musicians who need both acoustic and electric tones in one instrument. Its lightweight shamel ash body, responsibly sourced from Southern California, provides excellent resonance and sustain. The Big Leaf Maple top is finished in a trans orange shaded edgeburst that gives it a beautiful and lively look. Designed for comfort, it includes chamfered edges and an integral armrest.
Equipped with three pickups, the T5z offers a broad tonal range suited for multiple playing styles. The magnetic acoustic body sensor captures warm, natural acoustic tones, while the concealed neck humbucker and visible bridge humbucker deliver everything from rich, clean electric sounds to high-gain lead tones. The five-way switching system allows players to seamlessly transition between acoustic and electric settings, making it ideal for live performances and studio recording.
The T5z has a Neo-Tropical Mahogany neck with a T5 Carve and a 1 11/16" width at the nut for a comfortable and fast playing experience. The West African Crelicam Ebony fingerboard makes for both smooth fretting and stunning visuals. The guitar features a West African Crelicam Ebony bridge paired with a Micarta saddle and a TUSQ nut, enhancing sustain, clarity, and tonal consistency. These premium materials contribute to precise intonation and a balanced response across all frequencies.
Custom aesthetic details further elevate the T5z's appeal. The faux-pearl peghead logo and silver spire fretboard inlays add a refined touch, while the gloss finish enhances the wood's natural beauty. Taylor smoked nickel tuners provide exceptional tuning stability and smooth operation. The guitar ships in a brown deluxe hardshell case for reliable protection and transport.
