The Sterling by Music Man JP157D is the perfect blend of craftmanship and innovation for guitarists. This visually striking 7-string guitar offers the player premium features for an incredible price.
Built with a mahogany body and a flame maple top, finished in Eminence Purple, this Petrucci model is a real head-turner. The "S" shape body sits super comfortably, and with the addition of a double cutaway, it makes accessing the higher register of the fretboard so easy.
The JP157D features a gorgeous roasted maple neck, finished in satin which feels super smooth and easy to glide across. We have a lovely piece of ebony for the fingerboard, finished with custom JP inlays, 24 stainless steel medium jumbo frets, and a 16" radius, this makes navigating the fretboard feel effortless. Whether you're playing complex chord shapes or fast scale runs, you will not struggle at all. The stainless-steel frets also enhance durability and maintain a smooth playing surface over time, reducing the need for frequent maintenance.
For the pickups we are provided with Petrucci's signature humbuckers, a DiMarzio Crunch Lab in the bridge, and a DiMarzio LiquiFire in the neck. The Crunch Lab provides tight bass, and open mids/highs, preventing any mud, these are great for high-gain tones. The LiquiFire offers warm, smooth treble with a tight low-end, perfect for clear chord work or singing leads. To finish it off we have a push/push volume boost and tone controls, combined with a 3-way pickup selector, this provides the player huge tonal versatility.
This guitar is in great overall condition. There are some light scratches on the back of the body, but nothing that affects playability or performance, you can tell the previous owner really cared for this instrument. This a brilliant way of getting your hands on a quality instrument for a great price!
