It takes everything people love about a Martin and adds something completely new. Designed with Johnny Marr, the M-7 features an extra string, but not in the way you might expect. Instead of adding a low B like most seven-string guitars, it introduces an octave G string, giving it the bright and chiming sound that has long been part of Marr’s style.
That small change makes a big difference. The octave G brings a natural shimmer to every chord, creating a sound that feels rich, layered and alive. It is the kind of tone that immediately makes you want to keep playing, and it suits everything from delicate fingerpicking to full strumming.
The M-7 is made from solid East Indian rosewood back and sides with a solid spruce top, a classic Martin pairing that delivers deep bass, clear mids and sparkling highs. The Grand Auditorium body shape sits comfortably whether you are playing seated or standing, offering great projection without ever feeling oversized. Inside, scalloped X-bracing keeps the top lively and responsive, helping every note ring clearly.
The mahogany neck has a comfortable full-thickness profile that feels substantial without being heavy. The ebony fingerboard is smooth and precise, giving you an effortless playing experience across the entire range.
The M-7 comes equipped with LR Baggs Anthem electronics, giving you a clear and natural amplified sound. It is perfect for players who move between the studio and the stage, offering the same character and balance whether plugged in or acoustic.
