Some guitars arrive at Peach Guitars with a story behind them, and this Custom Classic T is one of the best examples. The timbers for this build were hand selected at the Suhr factory by our Director, John Priest, during a recent visit. John spent time going through individual tops, bodies, and neck blanks until he found a combination that would create something special. This guitar is the result, and it shows the moment you pick it up.
John approached this build with a clear idea. The guitar needed to carry the familiar vintage character of the classic instruments from the 50s and 60s, but it also needed something visually striking to set it apart. The handpicked Flame Maple top brings that extra touch of luxury to the traditional T formula, and the Aged Cherry Burst finish gives it a warm and vibrant look. A chambered Swamp Ash body sits beneath the Maple top, keeping the guitar resonant and lightweight while adding a lively acoustic response. The scraped binding frames the burst beautifully and adds a clean, precise edge to the look. This is the kind of wood pairing that feels balanced and open, and it provides the perfect platform for both classic T style tones and the more refined voice that Suhr designs tend to offer.
A 5A Roasted Birdseye Maple neck brings both stability and a touch of visual flair. The satin finish keeps the feel fast, smooth and free of stickiness. A 60s C Vintage Standard profile gives you a comfortable, rounded shape that works well for both rhythm and lead playing. Heavy stainless steel frets sit on a compound 9 to 12 inch radius fingerboard, so bending feels controlled and clean across the entire neck.
The Mateus Asato signature pickups bring a versatile take on the T sound. They have clarity and definition, but with a sweeter top end and a more expressive midrange. Whether you are chasing sparkling clean tones or something more driven, the pickups respond well to dynamics and feel extremely musical. The addition of Suhr's SSCII noise reduction system keeps things quiet by removing unwanted hum without touching the natural character of the guitar. It is a simple inclusion that makes a huge difference on stage and in the studio.
Hardware choices are classic and reliable. A Wilkinson three saddle bridge delivers the familiar T snap with excellent intonation. Suhr locking tuners make setups steady and tuning secure. And a Tusq nut rounds out the build with consistent performance across all strings.
