Back in '87 Music Man released a bass that would become an instant classic, the Music Man Sting Ray 5. For 35 years it has been at the forefront of bass innovation and inspired some of the slickest grooves ever to hit the lower frequencies.
To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the StingRay5, Music Man have released a special super spec'd edition. With a lush Ash body topped with Spalted Maple it both looks and sounds the part, it looks a million dollars. 5 strings always carry a bit of weight but this Sting Ray is really nicely balanced and feels great against the body
The Roasted Figured Maple neck is a joy to play, with a 34" scale length and 11" radius it feels comfortable underhand and so smooth, it's a real players bass this one. The Ebony fingerboard is adorned with Copper Pearloid Atlante Block inlays which contrast brilliantly against the dark Ebony. Whether you are kicking out monster riffs or experimenting on the treble side, the Music Man StingRay5 will knock it out of the park.
An 18-volt 3-Band EQ preamp is utilized for extra clean headroom, letting you dial in a wide range of popular bass tones from modern punch to classic vintage without clipping or distortion.
