The Mayones Aquila is a departure from the usual ultra modern guitars we see from Mayones. It’s a real legacy instrument that both looks forward while paying tribute to iconic guitars from the past. It’s got 80s inspired visuals, but the modern features and playability that makes Mayones guitars so special.
This Aquila benefits from a lovely T.E.W Swamp Ash body. This process really helps to stabilise the wood and reduces any excess moisture. This process also helps to increase the resonance and sustain of the guitar. The Monolith Hot Rod Red Nitro finish looks super slick and has been aged to perfection. Mayones have spent many years refining their ageing techniques, this guitar really shows off their skills and attention to detail. Due to the thin nature of the Nitrocellulose finish, the wood can resonate more effectively, giving this guitar a power voice!
The T.E.W Maple neck is super secure and feels really comfortable, you can navigate this guitar with ease. The dark Rosewood fingerboard looks great and features 5mm Abalone dot inlays. It also features stainless steel frets, a 25.4” scale length, and a 12” radius.
The pickup choice really brings this guitar to life, with a pair of Mayones' very own Velvetrone pickups, you get a great full frequency range and a really dynamic response. The Chori bridge pickup is slightly lower output, so delivers vintage sounding tones with ease. The Solium neck humbucker is balanced in response and is harmonically rich, it's perfect for soulful leads and silky cleans! With a Gotoh 510 bridge and locking tuners, this guitar offers flawless tuning stability and intonation.
