The Lollar Imperial Bridge humbucker is built to capture the character of the original 1950s PAF pickups while offering improved frequency balance and a touch more output for better position matching. It delivers the open, dynamic and harmonically rich response players associate with great vintage humbuckers, but with a slightly stronger bridge voice that feels more confident and better balanced in modern guitars.
The Imperial design emphasises clarity, articulation and musicality, avoiding the congestion that can occur with overwound bridge pickups. Instead, it offers a smooth top end, a focused midrange and a tight, controlled low end that stays defined even under gain. The result is a bridge pickup that feels expressive and responsive, with excellent note separation and a vintage-correct dynamic feel.
With a DC resistance of 8.4K, the Imperial Bridge sits comfortably in the low-output PAF range while still providing enough push to stand out. The nickel cover adds a classic look, and the 4conductor wiring allows for coil-splitting and more advanced switching options without compromising the core PAF character.
Average DC resistance: Bridge 8.4K.
