Rich Robinson has been at the forefront of modern rock 'n' roll for the last 30 years, firstly as a founding member of the legendary Black Crowes and latterly as a solo artist and with the Magpie Salute. The Gretsch G6136T Rich Robinson Magpie is a guitar that fuses classic Gretsch heritage with Robinson's own indelible vibe and legacy.
The Laminate Maple body with a solid Spruce top is finished in authentic Raven's Breast Blue Relic, and with the delicious chrome hardware, it looks every bit the classic Gretsch. The silver pickguard is complemented by the Magpie logo and Rich's Feather and Circle symbol which is carved into the top. It's a unique look that really makes this guitar stand out.
The Maple neck has a rich Ebony fingerboard and sports the Pearloid Thumbnail inlays, a real nice vintage touch. With the standard C shape profile and a 12" radius, it's comfortable and really well balanced.
The TV Jones Classic Plus at the bridge offers incredible response and definition. This is partnered with a Broad'Tron BT65 at the neck you get a robust and punchy midrange. With a great dynamic range it really responds to the way you play, slick and subtle one second and roaring the next.
A Bigsby vibrato unit offers great stability and is perfect for all those country, jazz and blues licks. A real stunner, this guitar is a great example of timeless Gretsch design.
