Founded in Lewiston, Maine, Bourgeois Guitars carries forward over fifty years of craftsmanship and innovation. Under the guidance of master luthier Dana Bourgeois, the workshop combines traditional techniques with modern precision to produce instruments of remarkable tone and beauty. Each hand-voiced guitar is built with a deep respect for heritage, designed to inspire players today and for generations to come.
This Bourgeois Vintage/PS-S dreadnought is a powerhouse acoustic, built for players who want depth, volume, and clarity in equal measure. Handcrafted by the expert team at Bourgeois Guitars, this instrument represents the pinnacle of boutique guitar making.
The Vintage/PS-S spec means premium, hand-selected tonewoods and Bourgeois renowned tap-tuned, hand-voiced-tops resulting in outstanding responsiveness and tonal complexity. Every detail, from construction to finish, reflects a deep commitment to traditional craftsmanship with modern precision. To this day, Dana and Master Luthier James Witkus meticulously oversee the top and back voicing of every guitar, approving the selection of all tonewoods-showcasing skills that have become legendary in the world of acoustic guitar building.
The Bourgeois Vintage/PS-S boasts a hand selected Sitka spruce top and the highest available grade of East Indian Rosewood for the back & sides, combining vintage aesthetics with modern innovations such as a dual action truss rod and a detachable neck joint. This guitar is designed to resemble the "pre-war" golden-era acoustics, while maintaining an unparalleled level of playability.
This Bourgeois Vintage/PS-S is finished in the newest version of their satin lacquer, which improves resonance due to a thinner coating and contributes to a gorgeous, balanced, vintage tone.
The signature X-bracing design scallops the bass-side braces while shaping the treble side, enhancing bass-to-treble balance and dynamic range. The result is a clear, natural voice that responds beautifully to every playing style.
The Honduran Mahogany neck provides a super comfortable playing surface, and a lovely piece of ebony for the fingerboard, finished with Abalone slotted square & diamond inlays. This neck profile is perfect for longer playing sessions and for playing without getting fatigued.
We recently had three different Bourgeois guitars arrive and they were all brilliant in different ways. This dreadnought had loads of volume as well as a particularly strong midrange. Anyone looking for a satin-finished dreadnoughs with plenty of volume, character and modern playability will not be disappointed. Another absolute winner from Dana and the team.
