The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition George Harrison 1967 Bass VI is a meticulous recreation of the instrument Harrison used throughout the Abbey Road sessions, built to the same specifications by the Custom Shop in Corona and finished with Relic ageing that captures the original's journey. The two‑piece select alder body delivers resonant warmth and balanced midrange, finished in thin nitrocellulose lacquer with a Relic Bleached 3‑Colour Sunburst treatment that mirrors the worn‑in look of Harrison's original.
The maple neck is carved to match the exact profile of Harrison's Bass VI, featuring a bound 3A rosewood fingerboard with white pearloid block inlays. The 7.25 inch radius and 21 vintage frets provide a period‑correct playing surface that rewards a lighter touch with expressive dynamics. The 30 inch scale length gives the Bass VI its distinctive feel, with lower string tension that encourages both bass lines and guitar‑style phrasing. A bone nut ensures precise intonation and sustain.
Three Custom Shop Hand‑Wound Jaguar pickups capture the full harmonic spectrum of the Bass VI's unique register. They deliver articulate highs, growling midrange and defined low end, with individual on/off slide switches for each pickup. The etched switch plate replicates the markings Harrison added to his original instrument. A two‑position slide switch engages the classic Bass VI bass‑cut strangle circuit for additional tonal shaping.
Premium hardware includes a 6‑saddle vintage‑style adjustable bridge with floating tremolo tailpiece and Bass VI mute, a 4‑ply brown shell pickguard, vintage‑style tuning machines with Fender logos, American Vintage string tree and Fender Bass VI stainless steel strings. It comes with a deluxe black hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
