The Fender Stratocaster is probably the most iconic guitar ever produced and the Fender Custom Shop '57 Stratocaster is a fitting addition to this legendary line.
An Alder body is finished in a super cool Black over 3-Tone Sunburst, one of Fender's creative finishes, it's a real beauty! Authentically aged, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. The thin nitro finish also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively and with the relicing you also get that road-worn look without any actual damage to the guitar.
The dark tint riftsawn Maple neck has a smooth nitro finish. With a 9.5" fingerboard radius and 21 6105 Narrow Tall frets, the '57 Custom Shop Strat can handle anything you throw at it without even breaking a sweat; all the while feeling like a vintage guitar. The '57 Soft "V" neck profile adds to this - measuring .850" at the 1st fret and .990" at the 12th. With the inclusion of a custom shop vintage Strat bridge and vintage tuners you have brilliant tuning stability and intonation.
There's an incredible line-up of pickups in this guitar. All hand wound, we've got a Fat 50's single-coil in the neck, a 69 Strat in the middle position and a Texas Special in the bridge. This combination of different Strat eras all in one guitar is a genius move from Fender - an authentic 50s vibe in the Neck for smoky lead tones, sweet clarity & articulation in the Middle and it's heavy blues heaven in the Bridge position for biting rock solos (plus anything else you want to throw at it!)
The addition of the S1 switch allows for the Bridge pickup to be added in positions 4 & 5, so there's a huge scope of tonal variety.
Another nice touch that really stands out is the single-ply black pickguard, this gives the guitar a bit of a Gilmour-esque aesthetic and makes for a really classy look all round.
Supplied with a Fender Custom Shop hard case, this is a real sweet example of Custom Shop quality.
