Description

The Caroline Guitar Company Megabyte represents a remarkable evolution of the celebrated Kilobyte pedal, enhancing your sonic toolkit with an array of innovative features. What sets the Megabyte apart is its incorporation of two classic lo-fi digital chips, a nod to the golden age of digital delay. This infusion brings extended delay times into your grasp, allowing for up to 1200ms of beautifully textured delay to shape your sound.

One standout feature that customers have longed for is the addition of tap tempo functionality. Caroline has integrated a highly practical tap-tempo system with three divisions, ensuring precise control over your delay's timing. This means less time navigating complex menus and more time immersed in your music, effortlessly syncing your delay to your rhythm.

Furthermore, the Megabyte introduces the flexibility of switchable trails or true bypass options. This empowers you to sculpt your sound precisely the way you want it, whether you prefer the subtle trails of a decaying delay or an immediate, pristine bypass.

Caroline hasn't stopped there. The Megabyte also boasts a nastier Havoc switch, ready to unleash a chaotic burst of sonic mayhem when you need it. Coupled with a +21db drive preamp and modulation for the delay side, you'll find endless creative possibilities at your fingertips.

Delving inside the pedal, you'll discover controls for a 100% dry-kill function and the capacity for maximum headroom on the havoc/oscillation side. This level of control allows you to fine-tune your sound with precision, ensuring it aligns perfectly with your musical vision.

Building upon the foundation of the Kilobyte, the Megabyte adopts a similar framework to Caroline's renowned Météore and Somersault pedals. While the lo-fi digital chip shapes the delayed wet signal, the initial gain stage, dry signal, feedback, and output mixing stage remain entirely analog. The outcome is a sonically rich and fat tone, maintaining the robust feel and power that Caroline's loyal customers have come to expect.
