The 3rd Power DRGN 45 Head captures the soul and inspiration of iconic studio-recorded guitar tones in a highly versatile and portable 45-watt package, co-designed by Joe Satriani. This hand-wired, fixed-bias amp utilises a Duet of Svetlana Brown-base EL34 Power Valves to provide rich British voicing, exceptional dynamics, and uncompromising clarity at approximately 45W of power.
Built with the same hand-wired, point-to-point precision in the USA as the 100W model, the DRGN 45 is a professional workhorse. Its tone-shaping features are designed for maximum flexibility: the Plexi/Cascade Preamp provides a massive range from classic clean to articulated high-gain saturation.
The patented Hybrid-MASTER Volume Management is key to the DRGN 45's versatility, delivering the full tone, feel, and articulation of the valve circuitry at exactly the volume needed for any room, without compromise. Tonal customisation continues with the Dual Tone Stack Voicings (Vintage JTM / Modern JMP) and the powerful, switchable 400Hz Boost, which fattens unwound treble strings for soaring solos.
The amp also features a high-fidelity Valve Buffered FX Loop and a foot-switchable Preamp Gain Boost for rhythm/solo flexibility. The Ultra-Presence Shelving Filter offers two corner frequencies (1.7kHz, 4.3kHz) allowing optimal high-frequency response to match any speaker. For easy maintenance, the back panel includes convenient Bias Test Points and an adjustment pot. The DRGN 45 Head weighs only 24 lbs and measures 19.875" x 9" x 8.5", making it powerful, flexible, and perfectly manageable.
