The Divided by 13 BW 1969 is an exciting and super unique valve amplifier designed in conjunction with American musician and producer, Butch Walker. This collaboration of unique ideas and Divided by 13’s incredible engineering has created by far one of the most interesting amp designs we’ve seen in recent years.
The BW 1969 was designed around a simple but uncommon idea. What happens if you build a valve amp with two separate power sections, each with their own voice and able to run independently or together? The BW 1969 answers that question with seriously impressive results! It easily shifts between unique sounds and is a super versatile tool for live use, practice, or in the studio!
Power section 1 features a pair of EL84s, which delivers 18 watts of power and has great harmonic complexity. Power section 2 features of pair of 6L6s which deliver 45 watts of power with great low-end stability, control, and authority. Each power section can be used entirely on it’s own, or can be combined for a total of 63 watts of power. When blended, the amp retains the harmonic detail and responsiveness of the EL84s while gaining the weight and firmness of the 6L6 power section.
This amp features a six-position input gain selector, which reshapes the front end of the amp and changes the feel and response rather than simply just adding gain. Each position is really usable, giving you access to edge of breakup tones, high gain, and everything in between. You also have access to Treble, Middle, Bass, Gain, Master, and Presence controls which help you tweak your tone to taste. The Treble control includes a push-pull Bright switch, offering additional lift without overcomplicating the signal path.
On this amp you’ll also find a fully tube-buffered effect loop, this is designed to seamlessly integrate time-based effects into the signal while preserving the immediacy and feel of the amp. A push-pull defeat and Bright option allow the loop to be tailored or removed entirely from the circuit.
All of these amplifiers are hand built by the Divided by 13 & Two-Rock team in their California factory using sing traditional construction methods and carefully selected components. There are no shortcuts, no automation, and no unnecessary complexity. Each amplifier is built one at a time to ensure it sounds its very best!
We’re thrilled to be the U.K. exclusive dealer for Divided by 13 amps, you won’t find these anywhere else in the U.K., don’t miss out!
