After the success of the previous Synergy x Marshall collaboration, they've joined forces again for the iconic JCM800 module! It brings the classic sound into a flexible format that's perfectly suited for stage, studio, or home use.
Few amplifiers have achieved the near-mythic status of the Marshall JCM800. When it first roared to life in the early 1980s, it didn't just define an era - it ignited it, becoming the definitive voice of hard rock and heavy metal. Big, aggressive, and unmistakably British, it built on the foundational crunch of the Plexi and added the gain, punch, and focus that powered a generation of guitar heroes.
Both channels are identical, independent, and versatile, allowing you to tailor the module to your exact needs, whether that's a nice crunch with a volume boost for solos, 2 different flavours of high gain, or an edge of break-up clean on one side and a heavy hitting energy filled wall of sound on the other. Each channel features a Preamp control, 3-band EQ, Presence, and master Volume with a Bright switch and a High/Low switch to mimic the different input sensitivities of the original amp.
The module features a duo of 12AX7 preamp valves for that authentic cascading gain but what makes this module special is the third 12AX7 - used for the 0-Watt Power Amp. A revolutionary design in modular preamp design, the 0-Watt Power Amp and Phase Inverter are the key to recreating the authentic amp tones filled with sag, harmonic bloom, and everything to recreate that cranked amp response at any volume.
The Marshall JCM800 module includes a three-position switch on the PCB that lets you adjust the input tube bass response, matching the original circuits used in classic designs. These settings influence both the overall feel and the tightness of the low end. Different amp designers have always relied on their own preferred component combinations for the input stage, and this switch gives you access to three of the most popular options. Position 1 uses a 1.5K resistor with a 22uf capacitor, Position 2 pairs a 2.7K resistor with a 0.68uf capacitor, and Position 3 features a 1.8K resistor with a 1uf capacitor. The JCM800 module comes factory-set to Position 1, but experimenting with all three allows you to fine-tune the response to suit your own style.
