The Suhr Ian Thornley Signature Classic T, also known as the Lumberjack, is a professional-grade electric guitar designed in collaboration with acclaimed guitarist Ian Thornley. Built to meet the demands of both studio recording and live performance, this instrument offers a combination of premium tonewoods, advanced electronics, and player-focused features.
The body is crafted from African Okoume, a lightweight yet resonant tonewood that contributes to the guitar's dynamic response and tonal richness. The satin finish enhances resonance and gives a smooth, natural feel. The neck is made from genuine mahogany with an ebony fingerboard, providing a fast playing surface and strong sustain. The Ian Thornley V-shaped neck profile (.875"-.970") ensures a comfortable grip and consistent hand support, while the 16" radius and jumbo stainless steel frets make for effortless string bending and clean articulation across the fingerboard.
Equipped with a versatile pickup configuration, the Classic T features a Suhr SSH+ humbucker at the bridge, a V60 single-coil in the middle, and an SSV humbucker at the neck. This setup offers a wide tonal palette - from warm and smooth to bright and aggressive. The custom switching system includes auto-splitting of the humbuckers in positions 2 and 4, and position 3 activates both the neck and bridge pickups, allowing players to access a range of classic and modern tones with ease.
The guitar also includes high-performance hardware designed for stability and precision. Suhr locking tuners ensure reliable tuning and quick string changes, while the 2-post tremolo system with solid saddles and a steel block provides smooth vibrato action and solid intonation. The Tusq nut enhances tuning stability and sustain.
