The Suhr Andy Wood 10th Anniversary Signature Modern T is a refined evolution of Andy Wood's original prototype, updated with modern performance features while preserving the qualities that made the first version so successful. Its Swamp Ash body provides a balanced tonal foundation with strong note definition, while the carbon fibre pickguard adds durability and a modern aesthetic. Every element of the body construction is chosen to maximise tonal consistency and long-term stability for demanding studio and stage use.
Its neck is built around Suhr's Modern Elliptical profile, measuring .780"-.830", which supports comfortable hand placement and reduces fatigue during extended sessions. The roasted maple neck increases structural stability and resists environmental changes, while the ebony fingerboard contributes to a fast, smooth feel with precise attack. Jumbo stainless-steel frets offer long-lasting durability and accurate intonation, and the 16" radius ensures effortless bends and clean, low-action setups. Together, these features create a neck that prioritises speed, accuracy, and reliability for a wide range of playing styles.
The newly designed Woodbucker humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions were created to meet Andy Wood's tonal requirements for warmth, articulation, and balance. Built with Alnico II magnets and a carefully controlled wind, these pickups deliver a full midrange, tight low-end response, and clarity suitable for genres ranging from jazz to aggressive rock. The push/pull tone control for parallel bridge operation adds additional versatility, offering cleaner and more focused tones when needed.
Reliable hardware completes the Modern T's performance-driven design. The recessed Suhr 2-post bridge with solid saddles offers improved sustain, precise intonation, and stable tremolo operation. Suhr's proprietary locking tuners provide quick string changes, enhanced tuning stability, and an 18:1 gear ratio for accurate adjustments. Together, these components ensure that the instrument performs consistently in both studio and live environments.
