The PRS DGT Semi-Hollow was first introduced as a limited edition collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and guitarist David Grissom. Built around Davids much-loved DGT signature model, the Semi-Hollow version brought a fresh twist to the design with a more open, resonant character and a totally unique voice.
Were excited to present this incredible Wood Library DGT Semi-Hollow, which keeps all of the core features that made the original so popular while adding a few unique visual touches of its own.
One of the standout features of this guitar is its semi-hollow construction. It gives the guitar a rich, lively tone with enhanced resonance. The Mahogany body and 10 top grade Maple top work well together and deliver warmth and clarity. This tone wood combination has been used for decades, and for good reason, it really is hard to beat! It features a high gloss nitrocellulose finish, which allows the wood to resonate and vibrate much more effectively when compared to other finish types.
Another standout feature of this Wood Library run is the neck, which is crafted from highly figured Maple and finished with a stain that matches the guitars top beautifully. It really helps tie the whole build together visually. The neck itself is extremely comfortable and features Davids DGT profile, which he has spent years perfecting. The Ziricote fingerboard is full of unique grain patterns and is finished with gold mother-of-pearl old school bird inlays, alongside a 10 radius, 22 frets, and a 25 scale length.
Equipped with PRS DGT pickups, this guitar excels in both rhythm and lead settings, providing a "Texas" voice with a distinct punch and clarity. The pickups can be coil-split to produce single-coil tones, offering even greater versatility for players who want a broader range of sounds. Additionally, the PRS Patented Tremolo and Phase III locking tuners give you great stability and control over your setup. You also have hybrid coloured hardware across the whole guitar, which is a really nice touch and added feature.
