This particular model is a DGT, representing over two decades of collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and David Grissom. Based on the McCarty platform, the DGT features a distinctive DGT neck shape, taller frets, special pickups, and a revised control layout. Grissom and Paul meticulously selected and tested pickups, resulting in the vintage-voiced DGT humbuckers, renowned for their beautiful rhythm and solo tones with a Texas voice. The guitar cleans up beautifully while maintaining its high-end tonal characteristics. David Grissom's meticulous specifications ensured that the volume control serves as a gain stage, allowing for a highly interactive experience with an amplifier. Paired with individual volume controls for each pickup and a push/pull master tone control for coil taps, DGT pickups offer versatility and articulation.
