Seymour Duncan Scarlet and Scourge pickups - 25.5" Scale - Mango Wood Top

Mark Holcomb, best known for his role in the progressive metal band Periphery, brings a unique blend of precision and creativity to the PRS lineup. His signature model is designed to handle a wide range of tones, offering both clarity and power for players who demand versatility. Holcomb’s unique playing style, which plays a key role in shaping Periphery’s intricate three-guitar arrangements, is fully supported by a guitar built to deliver consistent performance on stage and in the studio.
The core line Mark Holcomb signature model begins with a lightweight Mahogany body paired with a unique tonewood, Mango wood. Mango wood, native to Southeast Asia, was introduced to Hawaii in the early 1820s. Although the tree is primarily known for its fruit, it also yields attractive and functional hardwood. Tonally, mango is sometimes compared to Koa, as both offer warmth and bright, clear highs. It provides a balanced sound with deep bass, clear mids, and good sustain, making it a solid choice for musical instruments. The satin nitrocellulose finish gives this guitar a super classy appearance, and really compliments the guitars dark, sleek vibe.
Thanks to a custom neck profile designed to Mark’s exact specifications, this guitar allows for quick and easy movements. As a player, Mark utilises the full fretboard while playing with Periphery, and this is made easy thanks to the flat 20” radius, which works great for bends, riffs, or quick solos. With a slightly extended 25.5” scale length, this guitar is great for low alternate tunings. This guitar also features 24 frets, and PRS bird inlays.
This guitar features Mark Holcomb’s signature Seymour Duncan Scarlet and Scourge pickups, delivering tight low-end punch and clear, defined highs. It handles everything from intricate chord voicings to drop tunings with precision and clarity. The 5-way blade switch offers a range of tonal options, including full humbuckers in the centre position and coil-split configurations in the second and fourth positions.
Whether you're diving into heavy riffs, sharp country picking, or smooth jazz lines, this guitar is built to perform. It offers reliable playability and versatility, making it a solid choice for any style or genre.
