Every once in a while, a guitar comes along that perfectly embraces modern design, playability, and tone, resulting in an instrument that excels at home, on stage, and in the studio. The PRS Custom 24-08 is one of those guitars. Based on the cornerstone model from PRS, it adds a few extra tonal options to an already iconic design.
Featuring a stunning carved Wood Library Quilt Maple 10-Top alongside a natural one-piece Mahogany back, finished in Vintage Yellow, the Custom 24-08 looks every bit as good as it sounds. The 24-fret neck boasts an Ebony fingerboard and a Pattern Thin profile, offering a warm tone with loads of sustain that feels effortless underhand. Proudly bearing the classic bird inlays, this is every bit the premium instrument.
Equipped with DMO (Dynamic, Musical, Open) humbucker pickups, designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS team for a wide-open sound with vocal character and balanced frequencies from bass to treble, you get remarkable clarity alongside an extended high and low end, making these pickups ideal for modern playing styles. In addition, each pickup features an individual coil-tap switch, giving the "-08" its name with eight distinct pickup configurations to help you find your exact tone.
A PRS tremolo and locking Phase III tuners provide superb tuning stability and intonation. Complete with a PRS hardcase, this is easily one of our favourite PRS models and a fantastic example of the brand's continued brilliance.
