PRS Dany Villarreal Astryx Limited Edition - Ocaso (Sunset Finish)

Paul Reed Smith and Dany Villarreal (The Warning) have teamed up to release a brand new signature model inspired by one of Paul's most legendary designs, the Custom 24! The Dany Villarreal "Astryx" signature model takes the traditional Custom 24 DNA and combines it with a fresh new aesthetic that looks incredible, while also paying tribute to Dany's heritage and journey as a musician. The name "Astryx" comes from the root word for "star", alluding to divine guidance and a connection to something greater than ourselves. It's a meaning that Dany personally connected with and wanted to incorporate into her signature instrument.

The Astryx features a traditional Custom 24 body built using Paul's tried and tested combination of lightweight mahogany and figured maple. The maple used on this guitar is 10-Top grade, meaning each top has been personally selected for its incredible natural figuring. Every guitar features strong and defined flame right across the entire top. The finish is truly breathtaking and looks like something you'd expect to see on a PRS Private Stock guitar. Officially named "Ocaso", this finish beautifully blends shades of purple, pink, orange, and yellow. The word "Ocaso" translates to "sunset", which is the perfect way to describe this guitar's incredible aesthetic.

The mahogany neck is super comfortable and has been built to Dany's exact specifications. One of her main goals when designing this guitar was to make sure it was incredibly comfortable to play, both live and in the studio. Thanks to the Pattern Thin neck shape, you can navigate the guitar with ease and have access to every note on the fretboard. The fretboard itself is crafted from dark ebony and features 24 PRS standard frets, a 25" scale length, a 10" radius, and a special sun inlay on the 12th fret. The neck is comfortable, easy to play, and looks incredibly classy!

It's loaded with a set of PRS DMO humbuckers, which help Dany deliver her signature tone. As The Warning's sole guitarist, it's important that her playing both cuts through and fills the room. These humbuckers produce a full, thick tone with loads of dynamics and character, making them perfect for everything from clean tones through to high gain.

It's finished off with a high-quality PRS Gen III tremolo system, Phase III locking tuners, and a PRS hardcase. Each guitar also ships with a backplate personally signed by Dany Villarreal.
