Built in a run of 280 pieces worldwide at launch, it combines artist grade tonewoods, premium electronics and classic PRS craftsmanship in a highly collectable package. The Special Semi-Hollow platform is one of PRS's most versatile designs. The McCarty III treble and bass pickups are paired with a proprietary Narrowfield in the middle, giving you twelve total pickup combinations via the 5 way blade and two mini toggles. The volume balance between humbucker and single coil modes is impressively even, and the semi hollow body with a single f hole adds air, depth and harmonic sweetness.
The artist grade figured maple top sits over a black limba back and neck, with a Honduran rosewood fretboard and matching headstock veneer. Classic PRS appointments include a 25 inch scale length, 22 frets, 10 inch radius and the Pattern neck shape. Old School birds with outlines and the Pre Factory eagle on the headstock pay tribute to early PRS history. The PRS Gen III tremolo and Phase III locking tuners ensure exceptional tuning stability and a smooth, expressive feel.
