To celebrate PRS' incredible 40-year long history, comes a special Limited Edition version of one of their most popular models today and a firm favourite here at Peach, the Custom 24-08 Semi-Hollow. 1 of only 300 worldwide!
Over the course of the last four decades, Paul Reed Smith and co. have built upon a prestigious and well-earned reputation as one of the best guitar builders in the world. From their meticulous craftsmanship, amazing attention to detail and sourcing of the highest quality materials possible, it's no wonder they remain so well regarded among guitar players everywhere.
With this Ltd Ed version, the 24-08 which started PRS back in 1985 is honoured with a few modern updates. For instance, with regards to the electronics, here we have American alnico TCI pickups and two EQ mini toggle switches. This offers a broad sonic experience bringing tones reminiscent to sparkling single-coil to thick soapbar tones, while the two mini-toggles act as tuned high-pass filters, which cuts out some of the low-end - enabling articulate high-end so you can cut through the mix with soaring lead playing.
These switches were first introduced on the John McLaughlin Private Stock model in 2023 and they were such a popular addition that Paul knew they would be a perfect fit for this guitar.
The Semi-Hollow body is topped with an incredible Flame Maple 10-Top which is expertly finished in Charcoal Cherryburst. This premium grade timber is matched with aplomb thanks to the addition of a Ziricote fretboard & headstock veneer. Each piece of Ziricote wood looks unique, and the grain on this particular model is simply outstanding. The Old School Bird inlays with outlines add a touch of class that only PRS can bring.
The Mahogany back and neck are there for a solid, reliable option which works so well on these guitars and it compliments the semi-hollow construction of the body perfectly, adding a full and airy tonal response.
Additional specs include a 25" scale length, patented PRS Gen III tremolo system & locking tuners (providing smooth pitch shifting and optimal tuning stability), a Pattern Thin neck profile, 24 frets, 10" radius and a 40th Anniversary Custom truss rod cover.
