The SC56 is just that, a guitar that feels familiar but is new in all the right ways. A weight-relieved Mahogany single-cut body supports a carved Flame Maple top to make for an extremely elegant and classy look, finished in nitrocellulose. This, combined with a Pattern Vintage shaped Mahogany neck, makes for a vintage-inspired feel but retaining the classic hallmarks of a PRS - such as the Birds inlays on the Rosewood fingerboard. A 10" fretboard radius, 24.594" scale length and 22 frets provide a comfortable and slick playing experience, allowing for smooth bends and vibrato all over the fingerboard.
Phase III non-locking tuners with wing buttons continue this elegant vintage design, combining with a two-piece bridge to provide optimal tuning stability.
Powered by a pair of McCarty III pickups, these are designed to deliver warm, clear tone with exceptional note separation and dynamics, capturing the essence of vintage humbuckers. A simple configuration of two volume controls and two tone controls with a 3-way pickup selector switch, this seemingly simply layout offers a complex variety of tonal possibilities from warm jazz tones all the way to meaty rock riffs packed full of grunt.
This one has been finished in a visually striking Custom Colour, reminiscent of a combination of McCarty Sunburst and McCarty Tobacco Sunburst with a tasteful teardrop outline. In celebration of 40 years of PRS Guitars, this Limited Edition version of the SC56 is adorned with a 40th Anniversary truss rod cover and certificate.
