If you’ve followed us for any length of time, you’ve probably seen that we’re just in love with King Tone pedals! A staple of our studio rig, there’s barely a video that goes by without a King Tone pedal gracing our sonic palette! Established back in ‘99 by Jesse Davey, guitarist from legendary blues rock band, The Hoax, King Tone have firmly cemented their place as boutique pedal royalty.

It’s impossible to pick a favourite, but one pedal that never fails to get us inspired is the incredible King Tone Duellist. A twin format overdrive that delivers the very best of stage conquering tone!

With 2 separate, distinct tonal offerings, the Duellist captures the magic of 2 of the most iconic overdrive pedals of all-time, the Tubescreamer and the Bluesbreaker. You really couldn’t set the bar any higher but somehow, King Tone has managed to take it to the next level!

The String Singer side is pure unfiltered Tubescreamer. From the pristine cleans right through to that cutting TS attack, the String Singer is easy to manipulate, super responsive and man does it sound good!

The Heavy Hand side takes the blueprint from the iconic Bluesbreaker circuit and cranks it up a notch. It’s touch sensitive and has a great dynamic response, from classic blues break up to full throttle Marshall drive, this side is an absolute treat.

It’s much more than just 2 independent units sharing housing though. You can change the channel order, meaning you can play Heavy Hand into String Singer or the other way around. It gives you a different flavour and you can even split both channels to allow the use of a pedalboard switcher, all at the flick of a switch.
